Canadian Mental Health Assosciation

The CMHA exists to promote the mental health of all people and to seve mental health consumers, their families and friends. Founded in 1918, it is one of the oldest voluntary organizations in Canada. Each year CMHA provides direct servce to more than 100,000 Canadians through the combined efforts of more than 10,000 volunteers and staff in locally run organizations in all provinces and territiories, and branches in more than 135 communities.

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health

Located in Toronto, CAMH is a public hospital providing direct patient care for people with mental health and addiction problems. The Centre is also a research facility, an education and training institute and a community based organization providing health promotion and prevention services across province of Ontario.

Ontario Association of Children's Aid Societies

OACAS is a membership organization that represents 51 children's aid societies in Ontario. They have served their members, the community, the public and the government in a variety of ways since 1912. These services have included the promotion of child welfare issues, member services, government liaison and policy development, research and special projects, quality assurance in child welfare practice and training for all protection workers throughout the province.

The Sparrow Lake Alliance

Founded in 1989, The Sparrow Lake Alliance is a voluntary Provincial coalition of members of twelve professions and seven different service sectors that provide services for children from across Ontario. The Alliance will be of interest to professioanls working with children, and to parents, students, researchers, policy-makers and others interested in the well-being of children. The goals, structure and activiites of the Alliance are intended to achieve the conditions necessary to get all Ontario children off to a good start in life.

The Research and Training centre for Children's Mental Health - Data Trends Publication

Data Trends Publication on the Functional Status and Academic Achievement in Systems of Care. The authors describe two studies on children enrolled in a system of care in Santa Cruz or Sonoma County and conclude that these studies add to the evidence that children being served in joint education and mental health programs have complex needs that rquire service collaboration.

The Provincial Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health at CHEO

The Provincial Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health at CHEO is an innovative response to the challenges facing Ontario’s child and youth mental health system. There is a high incidence of psychiatric disorders among children and youth, and very few receive the services that they need. The Centre will build on best practices and quality research to better respond to the needs of children, youth and their families.
